Good, better, best! Never let it rest! Until your good is your better, and your better is your best!
That’s what my elementary school teacher would tell me when I was just about to give up on something. It’s catchy, and I never forgot it! Never giving up is key to being the best you, and in our episode on consistency, we get to see the good, the bad… and the super-soaked side of hard work.
Caution: You may want to bring shampoo and soap if you’re doing this challenge!
We found a group of brave people to do a wild relay race with water! One person laid on the ground with a 2 liter bottle on his or her forehead. The other ran back and forth with a cup and tried to fill up the bottle with as much water as possible.
And this is where it got a little crazy!
Some people were running back and forth with water cups, throwing water all over the place, even though we kept telling them that the race was about getting the most water into their bottle.
And then, we had the smart ones who slowly walked their water and filled up their teammates’ bottles! Splash!
After the final drop had settled, we talked about consistency and how we approach the important things in life. Lots of people talked about taking time to study at school or taking the time to practice certain things. But we also talked about the great things that come when we are consistent in prayer and wait on God! Galatians 6:9 says, “So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and don’t give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time.”
When I don’t stay consistent in what I do, I usually end up in making a mess – like the colossal water fight that you can see on the episode!
It’s easy to rush through spending time with God, or to give up praying and serving when it seems like we’re getting nowhere, but God has given me the greatest blessings when I stay consistent and committed to Him!
